Hot Rods and Heroes 2022!

WESTBROOK, ME (October 19, 2022)  The 2^ND Annual Hot Rods & Heroes Classic Car Show takes place this Saturday, October 22nd,  from 10:00AM to 3:00PM at Bill Dodge Auto Group, Saunders Way in Westbrook.  Hundreds of classic cars and hot rods are expected, and trophies will be awarded in 15 different categories.  Drive-up car show registration begins at 7:00AM and costs just $10.00 with 100% of the proceeds benefitting Veterans Forward, a Maine-based organization supporting Maine veterans, active military and their families.

Last year’s inaugural show drew nearly 400 classic, antique and show cars and trucks and well over a thousand spectators. “We were blown away by last year’s turnout,” says Jon Shannon, program director of 101.9 POR, who will be broadcasting from the event. “With the weather report for Saturday calling for sunshine and temps in the 60s, we think this year’s show will be even bigger.”

Highlights of the event include the following:

• FREE ADMISSION for all spectators,
• A large display of classic, antique, custom and specialty cars and trucks.
• New this year, display categories for Best Truck, Best Motorcycle, and Best Military Vehicle.
• Live music from national country recording artist Tim Dugger (lately of the NASCAR circuit) and Maine favorites “American Ride”.
• A live broadcast with 101.9 POR.
• Food Trucks by Giuseppe’s Coffee, Alabama BBQ, Cheese The Day, and The Red Barn Roadshow.
• Trophies in fifteen judging categories, including “People’s Choice” by popular spectator vote.

We were so glad to see so many people come out last year to help a very important group of people. We can’t wait for Saturday.”
